Biography

Host of The Lipedema Summit | Founder of The Trail to Health | Host of This Healthy Life Podcast

Erika Schlick is an IIN Certified Health Coach, author of Wandering Palate, founder of The Trail to Health, and host of This Healthy Life Podcast, where she has interviewed more than 100 leading physicians and experts in chronic illness, regenerative medicine, and longevity.

She has appeared on the Netflix documentary series Afflicted and on more than 400 nationwide television segments, advocating for patients with complex chronic health conditions and raising awareness around gaps in diagnosis and treatment.

In early 2024, after nearly a decade of unexplained weight gain, swelling, pain, and hormonal disruption that did not respond to diet, exercise, hormone therapy, or GLP 1 medications, Erika was formally diagnosed with Lipedema. The condition affects an estimated 1 in 9 women and remains widely under diagnosed.

She was confirmed as late Stage 1 to early Stage 2 Lipedema by three physicians and underwent four Lipedema removal liposuction surgeries in 2024. Her experience exposed significant shortcomings in physician education, diagnostic standards, and insurance access for women seeking care.

With a background in complex chronic illness recovery, including Lyme disease and multiple autoimmune conditions, Erika brings both lived experience and years of direct conversations with top medical experts to her work.

She founded The Lipedema Summit to convene the world’s leading Lipedema clinicians, surgeons, researchers, and patient advocates for high level, medically grounded discussions. As host, she is committed to advancing physician education, improving access to care, and accelerating progress in Lipedema treatment worldwide.
