Biography
Dr. José Carlos Martínez López is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon dedicated to advancing surgical care for patients living with lipedema. His journey in lipedema treatment began during his surgical training in Mexico City and expanded through advanced fellowship experience in Colombia, Brazil, and Costa Rica.
He earned his medical degree from Universidad Panamericana and completed his General Surgery residency and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery specialization at Hospital Central Sur de Alta Especialidad PEMEX in Mexico City. He is a member of the Mexican Council of Plastic Surgery and the Mexican Association of Plastic Surgery (AMPER).
Dr. Martínez López has pursued additional international fellowship training, including High Definition Liposculpture in Bogotá, Colombia, and an International Aesthetics Fellowship with SAPS Educational Academy. His work emphasizes surgical precision, ethical practice, and compassionate patient relationships built on trust.
He focuses on comprehensive surgical and medical management of lipedema, combining advanced liposuction techniques with individualized treatment planning to support symptom relief, improved body contour, and long-term confidence.
