Biography
Dr. Fábio Kamamoto is a board-certified plastic surgeon and internationally recognized specialist in Lipedema surgery, known for combining advanced surgical expertise with a deeply humanistic approach to patient care.
A graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of São Paulo (USP), Dr. Kamamoto completed his specialization in Plastic Surgery at the Hospital das Clínicas of the University of São Paulo. He holds both a Master’s degree and a PhD in Sciences from USP, with academic research focused on wound healing and experimental scar models.
In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Kamamoto has led clinical research initiatives and authored numerous scientific articles and textbook chapters in the field of tissue repair and wound healing. He developed an innovative vacuum dressing system designed to accelerate healing and promote vascular growth within surgical sites — reflecting his commitment to advancing both safety and recovery outcomes.
Dr. Kamamoto is a full member of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery and serves on the medical staff of several prestigious hospitals, including Albert Einstein Hospital, Sírio-Libanês, Oswaldo Cruz, Samaritano, and Hospital da Plástica.
He has shared his expertise at national and international conferences, including performing surgery via live broadcast at the World Lipedema Congress in Potsdam, Germany.
