Biography
Dr. Aria Vazirnia is a Harvard-trained, double board-certified dermatologic surgeon and a leading specialist in lymph-sparing lipedema surgery through the Advanced Lipedema Treatment (ALT) Program at The Roxbury Institute. He treats patients in Beverly Hills, California and Salt Lake City, Utah, focusing on advanced tumescent liposuction and three-dimensional circumferential liposculpture for lipedema.
Dr. Aria graduated summa cum laude from UCLA before earning his medical degree at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where he also completed residency training and a Master of Advanced Studies in Clinical Research. He authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters during his training and held leadership positions within the California Society of Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery.
He went on to complete an intensive Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, refining advanced surgical techniques and the safe application of cutting-edge technologies. Following his Harvard training, he completed an additional fellowship in Advanced Tumescent Liposuction and Liposculpture at The Roxbury Institute under the mentorship of Dr. David Amron, where he mastered the ALT method — an innovative, lymphatic-sparing approach designed specifically for lipedema.
Dr. Aria has presented nationally and internationally on lipedema treatment, including the World Lipedema Congress, the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting, and the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery.
His approach to care is rooted in the belief that surgeons treat not just a disease, but a person living with that disease. His surgical philosophy prioritizes symptom relief, prevention of progression, and aesthetic balance — aiming to restore both function and confidence for each patient.
